Fix My Money Life is an independent educational publication. Some pages may contain links that pay us a commission if you sign up, make a purchase, or take another qualifying action. We label those relationships clearly on the page, near the relevant recommendation or link. A link to a government source, credit bureau, lender, or other service is not necessarily a paid link.
How affiliate links work
If a page contains a compensated recommendation, you should see a plain-language notice such as: “We may earn a commission if you sign up through this link.” The notice belongs where you make the decision, not only on this policy page. Using an affiliate link should not add a charge from us; a product’s own fees and terms may still apply.
How we choose what to cover
We aim to compare relevant costs, reporting coverage, limitations, eligibility, cancellation rules, and alternatives, including free options. Compensation should not determine whether a factual statement is true or whether a product is suitable for every reader. When we have not independently tested a product, we will not claim that we have.
Some useful options, such as free weekly credit reports at AnnualCreditReport.com, do not require an affiliate relationship. We will not hide a sensible free choice just because it does not pay us.
Advertising and leads
Display ads, if enabled, may be served by third parties and are distinct from our editorial articles. If we ever collect information to connect readers with a provider, we will explain that arrangement at the point of collection and identify what is shared before a reader submits it. We do not currently offer a form on this site that sells your credit or debt inquiry to a provider.
Your choices and our limits
You do not need to click an affiliate link to use the free guides on this site. Before opening any financial product, review the provider’s current disclosures, fees, APR, eligibility, reporting practices, and privacy terms. Fix My Money Life does not promise approval, a credit-score change, or a particular financial result.
See our Editorial Policy, Privacy Policy, and Contact page. If you see a paid link without a clear notice, please tell us so we can correct it.
